Sleeping position
Although many people find that sleeping on their stomach to be the most comfortable, this position can have negative effects on the skin. Dark circles often develop under the eyes and swelling can even occur as blood supply is cut off. It is recommendable to sleep on your back instead of your stomach. This position helps to ward off these potential skin issues.
Not using sunglasses
The skin around our eyes is very thin and delicate. This is why wrinkles and other blemishes often occur in this area. Wearing sunglasses is a great way to help protect this area of skin from damaging sun rays. Make sure to buy sunglasses with UV protection.
Eating
If you always chew on one side, it can lead to asymmetry of your face because your muscles on one side weaken while the other side’s muscles are always toned.
Talking on the phone
It’s a common habit for people to rest their phones in between the ear and shoulder when using it for calls. However, this position can lead to wrinkles on the neck and a sinking look in the cheeks. Using a speakerphone or a headset is a better alternative that won’t impact your skin at all.
Using a tablet or a smartphone
We usually hold a tablet or a smartphone with our head looking down, and this can cause eye edemas and a “turtleneck”: flabby skin and wrinkles. Try not to keep your head down all the time when you are having a chat or scrolling the newsfeed on your phone/tablet.
Leaning your chin on your hand
When sitting in front of the computer or when reading, if you have the habit of leaning your chin on your hand, try to do it less often. Your facial skin becomes less elastic in such a position, and it starts to sag with premature wrinkles appearing.
